An Evolution of my Teaching
Things have changed around here over the last year or so and it's for the better! The way I run my business has evolved in order to create more effective healing that will create lasting change in your body and empower you with the tools to get out of pain and move better.
Gone are the days of weekly sessions where you walk out of the room and immediately forget what we worked on and are soon counting down the days until our next session when I can 'fix' you. I no longer assign homework that you attempt to do later but can't remember the details.
Rather than those Pilates sessions, I now offer Movement Therapy which includes a combination of things that work together to create lasting healing.
What is it?
Throughout more than ten years of teaching, I have discovered a combination of things that WORK to create healing. I began this method a little over a year ago and I can assure you this new way of working has created RESULTS for my students!
These healing methods are used in COMBINATION, not separately- that’s the ticket to achieving your goals!
Private, 1:1 sessions for those in pain or with injury
Homework videos via On Demand Subscription Library
Movement classes utilizing Pilates and other similar techniques
In our sessions you will learn how to do a ‘reset’ and how to determine what that is at different times (it’s not always the same!) We then empower you to notice, sense and feel the proper form and technique so that you can replicate this new way of living in your body to your everyday life. I create short videos that will review our work together in sessions so that homework is guided and efficient. The secret sauce is not just the movements & exercises but fine tuning the specific positions, muscle firing patterns and having my eyes on you to teach you how to feel it in your body the right way. This is a recipe where you will be able to exercise and move efficiently in other settings beyond the mat for a lifetime of pain free healthy movement.
I will typically see you every other week but the frequency is decided based upon what YOU need- it doesn't always have to be that often especially with the homework videos and movement classes coming into play. After the foundations of movement are coming together, you will begin to feel better and be able to take on more of the activities you love to do, pain free. At some point I will set you free from sessions as you continue with doing more informed movement of your choice for your lifetime. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge to live differently in your body to stay out of pain! You'll leave with a new sense of awareness and the tools to get out of a flare up should you have one. Although I absolutely love our time together, in your best interest I do not want to see you as a permanent client in my studio!
