Financial Accessibility: As part of my values, I am committed to dedicating a portion of my services with equity pricing. This includes a sliding scale for the Santosha Signature model as well as free or reduced membership fees and admission to special events, classes and workshops. As a small, woman owned and run business, I offer a set number of scholarships that consider my time, labor, education and experience. I continue to find ways to make it accessible while still acknowledging that we live in a system that requires me to generate income in order to provide for my family. The sliding scale helps to offset costs for those that truly need it. It is my intention to bring dignity and love to this process. See below for details on what the sliding is and is not. If you’ve determined you may be a good fit, please apply for financial accessibility through the form via the button below. If you are able to contribute to my efforts to offer these services, please consider making a donation via this gift card form with a description in the gift message box. If it is for the general fund please put my email in the gift recipient box. mandee@santoshapilates dot com
Yoga and Pilates Accessibility: I strive to make the movement I teach accessible to everyone with disabilities, injuries and mental illness. I have had the privilege of investing in many specialized trainings for a myriad of special conditions including neurological conditions and many types of injuries including brain injuries. I honor Yoga by practicing and teaching all 8 Limbs and going against the cultural narrative that it is purely a physical practice. I honor the roots of Yoga from India by incorporating my learnings while studying there and teaching outside the lens of mainstream western Yoga.
Accountability: I am open to feedback and welcome dialogue and engagement. It is my continual work of a white, able bodied woman of privilege to continue to work on my own trauma and fragility through grounding, mental health, receiving naturopathic care and tending to my nervous system through brainwork and bodywork.
Sliding Scale/Scholarship
It is:
Individualized
To be more inclusive.
For those who could not otherwise afford the offering.
For those struggling to make ends meet.
For those who do not have savings.
For those who are not supported by family
For those who believe in the full value of the offering but simply cannot pay that amount.
For those affected by income disparities.
For those who prioritize their healing over other luxuries.
It is not:
It is not to decide to pay what you think the offering is worth.
It is not a one size fits all like ‘senior’ or student’
It is not a discount rather a different price to make it more fair and inclusive
Community Agreement: In order to provide the best experience, I ask that we abide by these community standards.
Ask questions when you have them
Use language to describe what’s happening for you in 1:1 sessions (and classes as appropriate)
When harm happens, work together to create care and healing
