A Layoff And A New Beginning

untitled-8111.jpg

On Tuesday I received notice that I had been laid off by the MAC. The timing was very serendipitous as the moment I opened the e-mail, our contractor pulled up in front of our house with the paperwork to sign the contract to improve my makeshift home studio into a beautiful, light filled space opening up to my garden. I believe in signs and this was literally the epitome of one door closing and the other opening. I had tears in my eyes as I handed him a downpayment check with the savings I have been saving since my early 20’s. That's how long I've known I wanted a home studio one day. It’s a scary place to be in when you lose your job and hand over your savings all within a span of five minutes, but my faith is huge that this is the right step for me. It is an investment into my new job of teaching out of our home. The tears were happy ones- knowing that in just a couple of short months I will have fulfilled a longtime goal of mine to have a Pilates/Yoga studio in my home.

I fully plan to return to the MAC when they re-hire staff. They have said they have plans to re-hire as soon as they are able. I hope to continue my reformer classes there several times a week. The way this will happen is if YOU join them! Stay tuned for details when the MAC opens. My home studio will have a reformer for privates and hopefully semi-privates, and will be the home to Pilates Mat classes, Yoga classes and virtual classes. I am also looking forward to holding fun events and collaborations with nutritional therapists and more!

What does this mean for you right now? While we are staying at home, you are invited to join my virtual classes through my own business! Many of you have already jumped on board and I am so grateful! It’s been so fun to see you online. I appreciate you supporting my business at this time! I am also opening up a limited number of weekly spots for privates. Please reach out about that. For classes, it’s easy to sign up through my website. There is an option for a class package of 5 as well as single class options. These classes are open to anyone with a limit of 12, so feel free to share with family and friends. I am happy to help guide you through the process of using Zoom and any other technology questions. I was a total tech idiot a few weeks ago and have really gotten the hang of it now! My web site also has a tech tips page.

I would love to hear from you. Please respond and let me know how you’re doing! I really miss you and I think about each of you. I miss our conversations, our classes and the community. Fortunately I feel like we’ve been able to keep it going in a new way online!

With love and FAITH!
